Project offices are located in the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center and services will be provided in area schools and at the Kennedy Center research clinic.Job Summary:Provide speech therapy services to school-age children with Down syndrome. Work closely with the project director to develop competency in the administration of two treatment models being studied. Collaborate with other project staff to achieve therapeutic goals and outcomes for the children, as well as project objectives.Duties include but are not limited to: Assessment and intervention serving school-age children, 5 to 12 years of age primarily in the area of phonology / articulation. Collaboration and coordination of services with other service providers. Counseling of families, and consulting with physicians. Documentation and record keeping of services and contacts Managing and scheduling a caseload divided between several physical locations. Recording and reviewing treatment sessions on a regular basis for the purposes of maintaining fidelity to the treatment model. Reviewing and coding of recorded treatment sessions and periodic measures for data. Selection, preparation, management and maintenance of treatment materials. Technical report writingBasic Qualifications: This position requires a Masters degree from in Speech Pathology. 12 months related experience is preferred.Preferences: Minimum of 3 years experience providing services to children Some experience working with people with Down syndrome Self-motivated individual able to work independently in the field Flexibility and creativity in the use of treatment techniques Great Communication Skills Good Technical Report Writing Skills Solid computer skills and ability to use audio-video equipmentLicense Requirements:Current or eligible for TN License Licensure, Speech Pathologist.
